It’s hard to imagine that fall is right around the corner, but many people have already started to think about fall decorating ideas…or at least we sure have! We’re kicking off our next idea series with Fall Front Door Decorating Ideas! We thought this would be the perfect place to start, since it is the first thing that guests will see when they come to visit. We’ve also taken the liberty of gathering some great ideas for the porch and even light fixtures outside of your house…as we like to call it, Curbside Appeal!

These days, you don’t have to stick with the run of the mill wreath for your door. People are getting creative and thinking of different, out of the box door decorations. That’s why we thought we’d feature some really fun fall swags for the door. Swags are great for any home, and they especially look great for if you have double doors. The first idea we’ve featured has everything you want and need in a fall door swag, and luckily for you we have everything you’ll need to recreate this particular look. We’ve got all the key pieces that make this swag so beautiful, lotus pods, cat tails, wheat and of course burlap ribbon! The second idea featured, is a mix of fall leaves, berries and pinecones. Add a burlap ribbon bow, or leave simple with out a bow. Either way your door will be all set for fall.

It’s always fun to decorate the outside of your house, from the door, to planters and even light fixtures! Well we have some really cute ideas that make outside decorating really simple and easy.
1. We love this idea because of it’s simplicity. Take some natural or silk vines or branches and hang it above the front door for a unique garland. Simply add some fall leaves to the branches/vines and that’s about all you need for this very natural look.
2. Another great idea that we loved was taking a fall berry wreath and laying it flat on top of a planter or container. This creates a decorative edge to the container where you can set a large pumpkin and you don’t really need much else.
3. Sinamay is a great tool for adding a lot of show to whatever you may be working on decorating. For instance light fixtures, some people have light fixtures at the front of their house on either sides of the door or garage. This would be a fun, easy and festive way to decorate those light fixtures for the holidays. Pick up some sinamay at DFC, bunch it up or make a bow and wire it onto the light fixtures outside of your home. Sinamay is fairly easy to work with and for the look that you will get, it is very inexpensive as well!
